Welcome to year 2!

Hello Year 2,

Welcome to year 2! I hope you have had a wonderful and restful holiday and that you are ready for the exciting  Term ahead. The children have settled in really nicely and they loved sharing their favourite holiday moments. We will have exciting learning ahead of us and look forward to some fantastic days.

 

I have updated the Half Term Medium Plans ready for the start of the new term and the Spelling overview. There is also a Foundation Subject suggested homework, should the children wish to complete one.

Please remember:

• PE days: Wednesday and Friday
• Homework update: Every Friday homework books need to be in school. A new spelling concept is sent home every two weeks. Children have two weeks to practise the words. There will be only one assessment at the end of the term.
• Times Tables Rock Stars will have a weekly task to complete online.
• Reading : The ELS Book needs to be read every day and returned to school with the reading record every Friday. I will check parents' recordings and return the pack with a new book. Library/ Sharing books can be changed as often as needed. 
• Also be aware that AMADEUS Academy have produced a sequence of video lessons that will help parent and children understand calculation strategies.
